We'd like to thank you for the superb job you and the Real Options Realty team did to sell our home in the Santa Cruz Mountains ... and we didn't make it easy for you!

We'd like to draft this thank you in hopes that someone reading it will take the time to ask you for the many details that we can only hint about here. And additionally, if appropriate, offer ourselves as referrals for your professionalism, success, and contributions to the magic about us all.

We originally selected the Santa Cruz Mountains for its beauty and the sense of being so close to the natural world. As a result we wanted to pass on our property to another caretaker who would continue to nurture the land and trees. Just selling the house for maximum money was not part of our goals. We wanted a fair price, but from the right person.

We found our home's setting, with its redwood faerie rings, sense of privacy, and mountain vistas to be magical. You took this theme and developed it ever so subtly into your marketing plan for the property.

But you also had a plan for us......

• By encouraging us to finish all those 'little' house projects that we never seemed to get around to, we found that we had a sense of pride in offering an exquisite property that was complete. We also had confidence that no prospective buyer would nit-pick the house and that any inspector would only have praise for the dwelling. Finishing those long-delayed tasks also contributed to our sense of completeness about our experiences in the mountains.
• You introduced us to a shaman of the Native American tradition who helped us gain closure with our ownership of the property The ceremony was quite magical and helped us personally conclude that phase of our lives in the redwoods.
• The ceremony also helped us send the message out into the universe that the property needed a new, special owner to come forward.
• We gained a sense of closure in passing on this house to its new caretaker that neither of us has felt with any other move in our lives.

Your plan for the first showing - at the realtor's open house tour - was also quite magical and had the results you anticipated.

The live harp music, the warming food and beverages, the flowers, and the unique flyer all made the desired impression on the visiting agents.

Your diversion of the 'rushing hordes' through the redwood faerie ring and then past one of the more impressive vistas also had the desired effect: it slowed them down to a thoughtful awareness of where they were.

Instead of just rushing through, most agents stopped, sat down, and took a good, long look at the property. Some even called up clients to talk up the property and a couple even arranged visits on the spot.

The publisher of Santa Cruz's Homes Magazine ( who happened to be delivering the current issue to realty offices that afternoon) reported that your flyer for our house was up in every office she visited. Agents who had attended the open house that morning were talking up the event and the property to their office mates.

Gary, you and your team positioned and presented our home to its best advantage getting us the best results we could possibly hope for. The magic did happen! A prospective buyer stepped forward who is as enthralled with the magic and natural beauty of the property as we were. We know that we've passed on the land to someone who will nurture it as it needs and deserves.

We've since moved into our boat and are launching the next phase of our lives carrying forward only fond memories of our experiences in the redwoods.
